After one of the most hotly contested seasons in memory Formula One is back, but not quite as we knew it. Rules and regulations often change in F1, but never quite in the obvious and exciting way they have this winter.

Adjustable rear wings, Kinetic Energy Recover Systems (KERS) and a new tyre provider have all been introduced meaning that the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday morning (7am start, BBC 1) could be one of the most dramatic in recent memory.

Lets go through these changes and how they'll affect the racing before taking a look at the drivers who will be fighting for the silverware.

Crunch time in the NFL. The conference titles are up for grabs and a trip to Dallas is the dream. Last week saw another big upset as the New York Jets backed up all their talk and won in Foxboro after totally out playing New England.

It’s the Packers however, who are the hot team at the moment after dominating in the Georgia Dome and look like the powerhouse I, and a lot of analysts, thought they’d be in the pre-season. However they now have to make another trip to Soldier Field and face their rivals Chicago. It’s only the 2^nd post season meeting between these 2 sides.

Divisional Round Picks and Previews

So last week wasn’t great for me, but at least I’m not Gregg Williams. The New Orleans defensive coordinator got completely out-coached last weekend in possibly the biggest upset since the Giants won Superbowl 42 against New England. The Jets got one over on Indianapolis after Jim Caldwell morphed into Andy Reid and called a crazy time-out to help the Jets on their way to a last second field goal. The Ravens forced 5 turnovers against Kansas and routed them, running nearly twice the offensive plays that the Chiefs did. While the Packers out-played Philly for the most of the game but ended up needing a last minute interception in the endzone from the impressive Tramon Williams.

All this leaves us with 2 intra divisional battles in the AFC and 2 repeat games in the NFC.  So let’s get down to it, home team in Caps…

Wild Card Picks and Previews

After an exciting, baffling and always intriguing regular season it’s time for the play-offs. We have 5 new teams from last year but only two of them (Seattle and Kansas City) are playing this week. The rest (Atlanta, Chicago and Pittsburgh) are all sat at home this weekend waiting to see who they’ll play. The road teams this week all have an equal or better record that their opponents, it might not be long before an alternate seeding system is used, but that’s for another day. NFL Week 16 Picks and Previews

Last week was officially the week of special teams. DeSean Jackson, Tyjuan Hagler, Dan Connolly and Devin Hester all made great return plays to help their team to wins. Atlanta, Chicago, New England and Pittsburgh have wrapped up a play-off spot. With bye weeks and home field on the line though I don’t expect these sides to relent.
